I am so happry to tell you that I have been asked to guest design for Scrapberry's for July! So, during this month, I will share with you my creations with lots of their products!

My first creation is a summer mini album. I wanted to create an album with much much room for photos and be prepared in advance for my summer holidays! ;)

I loved making this mini so much (mini album it is but it has maxi size for lots and lots of photos) that I will be teaching it next season!

Crackle drawers - Valia Katzaki

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to show you another inspirational piece made with Dusty Attic products.

We always talk about the amazing Dusty Attic chipboard designs, but what about Dusty in Colour

Dusty Attic has the most amazing shades of acrylic paints, that have amazing coverage and durability. So I thought I should dedicate one project solely to the acrylics, Yes, no chippies at all on this one, just luscious Dusty in Color acrylics! ;)

My Greek friends can find drawers like these in Scraps n Pieces Emporium

Another view. I primed my drawers with gesso and then I applied Finnabair white crackle paste and let it dry thoroughly overnight. Finnabair paste gives the most amazing crackles so its best to let dry naturally. While the paste was still wet I embossed some fimo embellishments I made out of Prima IOD moulds. I painted the base of the drawers with Dusty in Colour Navajo White and Alabaster leaving the crackled areas unpainted.

To paint the drawers, I made a wash of Raisin and Sugar Plum, i.e. I dilluted a small amount of colour in lots of water. I didnt want to cover the crackles, instead I wanted to highlight them. All the drawers were painted with a pea-sized blotch of paint! Talk about pigment, right?

I randomly stamped with brown stazon ink when everything was dry. I also used some Prima Artisan Powder to further age my drawers.

Ta dah! Ready!

A view from the top. The dilluted colors went inside the crackles and highlighted them beautifully.

Smile - Layout for More than Words July challenge

Hello my crafty friends!

Its the beginning of July and we have another challenge for you at More than Words

Word Inspiration - SMILE
Creative Challenge - SKETCH

What does the word SMILE inspire you to create? You can choose to add the word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you, if not already obvious.

Use this fabulous SKETCH, designed by our very own DT member Helen Hapsi, as inspiration. Feel free to turn the sketch in any direction you prefer. You can interpret any element of it as you wish, as long as we can see that it was the basis of your creation.

Dont you love the sketch? I sure did!

Captured - Layout for 49 and Market

Hello my crafty friends!

This is my forst post as a Design Team member of 49 and Market
and I cannot tell you how happy and super excited I am!!!
The products are amazing, sturdy and unique papers and the flowers, oh the flowers!
I'm in love I tell you!

This is my layout made with the "Flower Fairies of Spring" collection

The paper has an amazing texture that I highlighted with gel medium mixed with mica powder through a stencil. After that, I sprayed my design with Prima Soft teal mist.

The butterfly is cut from the “From the root” paper. Isn’t its detail amazing? I also added stamping with the “Gabi’s label stamp set” to add dimension to the background.

I used the Burlap Ribbon in natural color as a mat for my photo bad I distressed the edges. I kept some of the burlap threads and created a little bow behind one of my flowers.
I have also used my favorite Dusty Attic chippies heat embossed with my beloved Lindy’s Stamp Gang powders.

All my flowers were misted with Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold for extra shine. See how beautifully the Rustic Barn large bloom has taken the mist?
All the gold shines and the flower didn’t lose its shape! And for someone like me that overmists her flowers, I can tell you it’s a big deal!

I used copper microbeads to highlight my flowers even more. I used the “Lost Postcard” paper to die cut my leaves. I then painted them with Distress inks using lots and lots of water. The paper took it all without warping!
These products are a pure delight to work with! Thank you so much 49 and Market!

Altered Vase - Moodboard inspiration for Dusty Attic

Hello my scrappy friends!

Today I will show you my interpration of our June Dusty Attic moodboard.

Of course you can go beachy and romantic with our moodboard, but I chose another creative option. Our moodboard is full of bottles, so I thought I could actually alter one. It was loads of fun!

I glued my Dusty Attic chipboard pieces, Prima flowers and Finnabair art stones with gel medium, painted the entire vase and composition with gesso and then went to town coloring it with Finnabair metallic paints in emerald green and purple. At the end, I highlighted the petals and some raised parts with Dusty in Colour Fine Silver. That really gave my vase extra shine and glamour!

When my colors were completely dry, I covered certain areas with Dusty in Colour clear crackle varnish. I am a sucker for crakles. Everywhere!
