For Baby - Mini album for Dusty Attic

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I will share with you a mini album made as a request for a special friend of our family, filled with photos of my children. Of course, what better way to make it stunning, than to use Dusty Attic products, right?

The chipboard pieces were heat embossed with Stampendous Frantage Aged Taupe embossing enamel - my Greek friends can find this embossing enamel at Scraps n Pieces

Who doesn't love fussy-cutting when it comes to Graphic 45 papers? These cute butterflies were to die for but they were vey fragile placed on top of the mini album cover. So, in order to make them sturdy and durable, I covered them with Clear Crakle Varnish on BOTH  sides. Yes, both sides and this makes them extra stong - see how hard they are against my finger? Plus, crackle varnish is a great adhesive as well! You can use the Clear Gloss Varnish if you want to, but I am a sucker for crackles.

My flowers were originally white so I mixed DIC Oceania and Capri to match the colors of my paper, dilluted the mix with adeuate water and then poured it in a mini spritz bottle. My custom made mist was ready and I was able to get full and equal coverage.

May moodboard inspiration with Valia Katzaki

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I will share with you my May layout for our sweet and feminine moodboard at Dusty Attic. This is my interpretation of it.

Our May moodboard
All chipboard pieces were first primed with gesso.

The feathers were first painted with Dusty in Color Navajo White and then misted with mist made from Finnabair Peach Opal Mica powder. When completely dry, I carefully painted the center of the feathers with Dusty in Color Raisin.

The Swirly frame was randomly painted with Prima chalk edger ink in Old Rose and on top it was given a thick coat of Dusty in Colour Clear Crackle Varnish. The thick coat resulted in one large crackle that followed the swirly lines of the frame.
The layered accents chipboard was painted with Fabrica Decora Metallic paint and then misted with Opal Peach Finnabair mica.
The flowers were misted in the middle only with Lindy's Stamp Gang Wild Honeysuckle Coral and then they were completely saturated with Opal Peach Finnabair mica mist. They shine beautifully!

The ticket was painted in Dusty in Colour Navajo White and when dry, I painted over with Dusty in Colour Raisin and immediately brushed it off with a baby wipe. This gave it a worn look and also allowed the paint to fill in the engraved letters. After that it was randomly misted with Finnabair rust mica mist and treated with some microbeads.

Together - Art Journal page for Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo

Hello there!

The begining of each month is always a busy time here on my blog.

Today I would like to show you another art journal page (I warned you I am hooked) that I created for the Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo May challenge "All you need is love".

I used the brand new and amazing Fortune Teller collection by 7 dots studio. You will love this collection!!!

The overized vintage flower is from Prima. Lots of Finnabair art ingredients, Ephemera and pastes as well as the new Art Stones, my latest addiction and Melange pebbles.

A couple of close ups

A Moment in Time - Art journal page for More than Words

Hello crafty friends!

I'm so happy that I can finally share with you my next art journal page! I started art journaling last month and it has become an obsession I might say! I so enjoy creating in a vintage way on a white page! Don't know why I hadn't tried that all this time. :)

Here it is!

This amazing photo is taken by Mel Plum of Au Contraire photography and the model is wearing a Relics and Artifacts necklace designed by Kimberly Cochrane. This photo spoke to my heart! You all know by now how I always scrap my kids, but Au Contraire has opened up a whole new horizon for me!

I used Ephemera from Prima Timeless Memories collection and various mists from my stash. Finnabair rust mica and various flakes and microbeads are present as usual - I couldn't possibly create without them. BUT my new obsession is Prima's IOD moulds! I looove them! Here I cut the flower in half to compliment my clock.

The sand paste gives amazing texture used with a Finnabair stencil!

Isn't this photo mesmerizing?

A better view of the paper clay embellishment made with IOD moulds.

I tried to recreate the worn effect of the background of the photo but by using warmer tones.

This art journal page was made for More than Words May challenge

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration & a creative challenge.
This challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.

Word Inspiration - MOMENT
Creative Challenge - CLOCKS

What does the word MOMENT inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it.  Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you if not already obvious.

For this month's CLOCKS creative challenge, we ask that you use a clock or any part of a clock on your project.  You can choose from dials, hands, cogs and gears, pocket chains, pendulums or all of the above.

OK! No time to waste! We'll be counting the hours until we see what you create!

VERY IMPORTANT! You have to incorporate both parts of the challenge, the word inspiration and the creative challenge, on your project to be eligible to win.  When we vote, we specifically look for projects that display BOTH requirements, and not just the word or the creative challenge.  Just look at our DT members' interpretation as example.

Do visit the blog to see the amazing creation by our Design Team! And as always, loads of prizes for you to win!

With this art journal page I am participating in Berry71blue May moodboard challenge. The rich gold and copper tones simply spoke to me!
