Hello everyone! It has been another crazy month in our house and I had been working on two amazing projects that I hope I’ll be able to show you soon. Other than those, I finally altered a letter for my DD bedroom door. And I say finally because that letter has been sitting on my craft desk for over a year now… When I first saw the Maja Design Sofiero collection I knew that the one for the letter, but no inspiration still. Until I saw the Blue Fern Studios November sketch challenge. That was it, in my mind I immediately flipped the sketch and imagined my A letter.
Here is the sketch
The sketch is a doll and I will definitely make a page with it sometime. Here is my A letter
I primed the papie-mache letter with gesso, then I painted it with Ingvild Bolme’s chalk inks and Seedless Preserves distress ink. After that I painted the letter with a pearlizing acrylic paint and masked some modeling paste on it. For the front side I covered the letter with the beautiful Sofiero “Strolling down the Rose path” paper and clustered some prima flowers, a prima pin, feather and a bling and a piece of the Blooming foliage. I carefully cut the leaves I wanted, taking care to leave my chipboard as beautiful as it was before to use it in another project. I primed the chipboard with gesso, then sprayed it with my favorite homemade mist, distressed the edges and stamped it with stazon brown ink in order to mimic the paper pattern and thus keep a subtle design for the entire letter.
Some more close ups
I hope you like my letter, my DD loved it! Kissez!
