Mixed Media Notebook for Dusty Attic

Hello crafty friends! 

Today I would like to show you a mixed media notebook I created from scratch for Dusty Attic. It is meant to be a color chart for my ever-growing stash of mists and media. 

I cut thick chipbaord at the desired size and painted it with black gesso. I then applied DA texture paste over the Butterflight stencil and glued my title, frame, art stones and flowers. All of them were given an extra coat of black gesso. When completely dry, I sprayed my cover with mists made with Finnabair mica powders (Teal, Rust, Opal peach and Deep Waters). I dried thorougly and then painted my title with black gesso to highlight it.

Embrace change - Layout for More than Words

New month and a new challenge for us at More than Words!!! 

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.

Word Inspiration - CHANGE

Creative Challenge - OMBRE

Use the word CHANGE as inspiration for your project.  You can choose to add the word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired to create from it.  Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you, if not already obvious.

For our creative challenge, we want to see an OMBRE or shaded effect on your project.  Ombre is the gradual blending of one colour hue to another, usually moving tints and shades from light to dark.  

The word CHANGE reminded me of the famous Buddha quote, 'Everything changes, nothing remains without change', keeping in mind at the same time how difficult it can be to actually embrace changes in life.  For the creative part of the challenge, I used a paper with an OMBRE effect and chose various shades of lilac flowers.  I also made a smooth transition of colour on my chipboard embellishments.

Chippies are from Dusty Attic and are painted with Finnabair metallique Dark Velvet paint and then randomly heat embossed with Lindy's EP.

Μια κονσέρβα από σκουμπρί...

Γεια σας κραφτοφίλοι! 

Με πολύ χαρά σας παρουσιάζω το επόμενο μάθημα που θα γίνει στο φιλόξενο studio του Scraps n Pieces στον Άγιο Δημήτριο το Σαββατο 8 Οκτωβρίου στις 10:00 το πρωί. 

Θα "παίξουμε" με μια κονσερβα απο σκουμπρί! Ναι, ναι καλα διαβασατε, ενα τενεκεδάκι σκουμπρί με τη βοήθεια μεικτών τεχνικών και των καλύτερων υλικών της αγοράς, θα μεταμορφωθεί σε ενα μοντερνο έργο τέχνης. Και το καλύτερο? Θα μάθετε τον τρόπο για να φτιάχνετε αυτό το τενεκεδάκι σε οποιοδήποτε ύφος θελετε! Steampunk με γραναζια, shabby chic με δαντελιτσες και λουλουδάκια, vintage με παλια αντικείμενα! Με φωτογραφία ή χωρίς, με μαγνήτη για το ψυγείο ή διακοσμητικό τραπεζιου. Οι επιλογές είναι πραγματικά απεριόριστες! 

 Κι ακόμα ενα μικρό sneak από το τενεκεδακι που θα φτιαξουμε ;)

Sparkle - Layout for 49 and Market

 Hello crafty friends!

 

Today I would like to show you my new mixed media layout created for 49 and Market.

 

 

 

Heirloom Botanicals is my new favorite collection! I love the rich, warm colors and there are tons of designs to choose from for your backrgounds, from sweet and shabby to artsy ones, perfect for your mixed media projects.

For my monthly layout, I decided to feature a mixed media layout on a sweet, shabby and flowery paper, the “Faded Bloom”.
