My Guy – Boy Meets Girl Challenge blog

Hello everyone! I am here with a mixed media page for our new challenge blog Boy Meets Girl. Boy meets Girl is a combination between About a Boy and About a Girl challenge blogs. You can read all about the merge here.

Our October 1st challenge is to create a grunge page. Now that is a challenge for me, because you all know my love for flowers and shabby chic layouts. But I had a photo of my husband when he was a boy and that photo was my opportunity.

 

I glued chipboard letters on a 25x25 piece of chipboard, I then primed with gesso and covered the white space with crackle paste. After all was dry, I painted the page with crimson red and black, using the right letters to highlight my title.

Proud – Guest DT for Keeping the Best

Hello everyone! I am very happy to show you a layout I did for the Keeping the Best challenge blog as a Guest Designer. The sketch was very inspiring! I used the lovely Maja Designs Sofiero collection, ID chipboard and Prima flowers.

Adventure

Hello everyone!

Today I’ll show a layout created for the September 15th challenge of About a Boy challenge blog. For this challenge you are required to use a very versatile sketch, suitable for every scrapping style. There are many interpretations from our talented Design Team. Here is my take on the sketch. I scrapped a precious photo of my hubby, who in my opinion is the most adorable hubby in the world. :)

Hi everyone! I have another filled-with-Prima layout to show you, no surprise there, right? :) This time I used the Prima Lyric collection to scrap about me. I know I don't scrap myself a lot, but how could I with three lovely children?

I sprayed my black cardstock with white Dylusions mist, I masked using some pigment ink and I fussy cut a frame from the gorgeous Prima paper. The flowers are mostly Prima. I cut in half an ID chipboard and placed it on top and on the bottom of my hand-cut frame. All chipboard pieces are randomly dabbed with white pigment ink.

With this layout I am participating in Scrapbookers in Greece and Get Creative September challenges. The SIG challenge requires journaling and I have a photo to prove it, but please excuse me because it is rather personal.

Beauty Within

Hi everyone!

This month in About a Boy we have a blog crossover with About a Girl, yeah! Time for me to scrap my step daughter, after two babies, it’s fair to say that she deserves now some extra attention. So, for the September 1st challenge we scrap our girls and the challenge is to use black, white and one more color! My favorite challenge this is, I love monochromatic layouts so this was if a favorite! I used a double-sided canvas-textured cardstock from DCWV, a Donna Downey mask and some crackle paste to create the background. On the bottom of my paper I played with white-painted corrugated chipboard and punches. The title is printed on a transparency sheet and glued on the flower with Glossy Accents. A few Prima flowers and embellishments, some cheesecloth and my LO is ready. I really really hope my sweet step daughter likes it. And most important, I want her to understand what we are trying to tell her, it’s all in my journaling. Adolescence is so difficult!!!

Beautiful mermaid

Hello everyone! I am here today with a layout about my sweet step-daughter! Two years ago we visited the beautiful island of Leykada and the famous Porto Katsiki beach. My husband took the most incredible photos of her without her posing, maybe that’s why the photos were gorgeous!

Here’s the layout

A little – or should I say a lot? – different than what you are used from me, right? This is the first LO I believe that is made without the use of any paper, just white cardstock. Firstly I misted the cardstock with plenty of water and then with my Dylusions London blue mist and a homemade mist made of water, TA Pomegranate and Ingvild Bolme’s Hydrangea chalk ink. Ingvild Bolme’s pads are so juicy (have I mentioned how much I love them? Sure I have!) that I managed to squeeze easily some color out of the pad and into the mister. After that, it’s all flowers, Prima and a Petaloo that I colored to match the LO, washi tape, a Pink Paisley artisan heart, crackle accents drops (I am addicted to those lately), stamping, masking and sequins. “Sequins? Yeah right” was my first reaction when a fellow About a Boy DT member asked what we thought of this new trend a couple of months back. But when I saw the Purple Pumpkin’s gorgeous August sketch, I knew I had to scrap that photo using sequins! lol

Καλημέρα σε όλους! Εφτιαξα μια καρτουλα για μια φιλη που γενναει σε λίγες μερες με την αγαπημενη σφραγιδα baby Edwin! Με την καρτα αυτη θα παρω μερος στην πρόκληση καρτας του Get Creative.

Χρησιμοποιησα λινατσα για να ισοσταθμισω το γκλιτερ των λουλουδιων και του στεματος. Τα χαρτια ειναι ΜΜΕ και τα λουλουδια ειναι της Prima.
